From Remote Control - The third episode of this season of “The Simpsons” was the best one yet. I was so excited to finally laugh for an entire half hour. Especially at the joke about Milhouse being allergic to his own tears—and then crying.
Then I found out the news that the show will be out on break until November. Stupid baseball.
After Homer bought a set of do-it-yourself books at a trip to an abandoned mall in Springfield (probably modeled after Tucson’s El Con Mall), Marge found another calling: carpentry. Bart gave her a great compliment: “You’d be like the Jesus of carpenters!”
The battle of the sexes became the focus when the town refused to let a woman do their carpentry work. So Homer became the face of Marge’s new business, taking all the credit, and then having to restore the town’s old rollercoaster on his own when Marge is hurt by Homer’s lack of giving credit where it’s due.
The show’s other battle was another chapter in the fisticuffs between Bart and Principal Skinner. Bart found out Skinner was allergic to peanuts, and used it to get the principal to eat trash and embarrass himself on the school intercom. It ended with a spoof of the battle between Obi-wan Kenobi and Darth Maul in the first “Star Wars” prequel, complete with John Williams’ music. Awesome.
