The latest celebrity diet to make headlines won't soon be converting the Atkins-obsessed masses. Particularly since it belongs to the portly patriarch of TV's favourite dysfunctional family, The Simpsons.
The Homer Simpson diet, which is analysed in a new study from Rutgers University, is based on a staple of fats, sweets, alcohol, doughnuts and salty or fatty snacks.
After analysing 63 random episodes of The Simpsons, Rutgers researchers found Homer not only eats more often than the other characters, but also talks about food more, eats greater quantities at meal time, and is less active.
