| Season 11 DVD news | Posted by Scott on Saturday 26th July, 2008 @ 14:14 |
The Simpsons Complete Eleventh Season is on its way! After being delayed from December last year due to The Simpsons Movie DVD release, we can now confirm Season 11 will be released on October 7th. As usual, the set will feature commentary on every episode as well as deleted scenes and commercials. Click continue below to see the full list of commentaries.
For the box design, Fox have continued with the 'head' theme from Seasons 6-10, but appear to now be using the standard box shape. They now move into secondary characters with Krusty the Clown:
No word yet on alternate head-cases, though

| Simpsons Movie sequel confirmed! | Posted by Scott on Monday 21st July, 2008 @ 11:12 |
Matt Groening has confirmed that a sequel to The Simpsons Movie is on the horizon.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, Groening noted that a second feature could take several years to emerge as the show's production team aren't keen to put in the extra hours.
"It will happen at some point, but I have no idea when," he said. "The first one took us four years - mainly because we don't like to work any harder than we usually do."
In the meantime, check out our pages about the first Simpsons Movie.

| The Simpsons Dictionary | Posted by Scott on Monday 14th July, 2008 @ 13:53 |
Long time no update (again). I've been travelling in the States for the past 10 weeks - 'twas a great trip!
While in Hollywood I took a trip to Universal Studios and experienced the new Simpsons Ride. If you haven't already been, I thouroughly recommend it. To experience it to its fullest, wait until the line is quite long (at least 40 minutes) and you can catch masses of original animation and classic clips while waiting in line!
More about that coming soon. Today though, we have a really cool content update. The Simpsons has coined many words and phrases that have entered mainstream consciousness. You may already be familiar with d'oh, yoink and embiggen, which are all perfectly cromulent words; but there are many more you may not remember, which we have compiled into a big dictionary.

| Censorship update | Posted by Scott on Wednesday 26th March, 2008 @ 14:23 |
Apologies for a lack of updates recently. Working a job and going to the pub seems to take up all of my time these days.
I am still working on the movie script and general site maintenance. I also updated Season 9 of our British censorship guide with a few cuts from Channel 4 in The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson that was on just now.
I noticed yesterday that a bunch of links in the new top menu were broken so I've fixed them I hope. If you come across any broken links, feel free to fire an email off to me - contact [at] simpsoncrazy [dot] com.

| Fox paints town yellow for Simpsons DVD | Posted by Scott on Tuesday 18th December, 2007 @ 08:40 |
In one of the biggest DVD promotions this year, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is kicking off Tuesday's DVD release of "The Simpsons Movie" with big celebrations in cities around the country.
At the top of the list is New York, where the Empire State Building will turn "Simpsons" yellow for the first time ever in the building's first promotion for a movie.
Also in the Big Apple, Bryant Park will host an ice show, a 25-foot inflatable Homer hand and 2,500 mega-donut balloons, and Times Square street teams will distribute yellow Santa hats and line 42nd Street with balloons.
"We're lucky enough to have a brand that really lends itself to creative events," said Steve Feldstein, senior vp corporate and marketing communications at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

| Homer Simpson Offers Free Parking St. Louis | Posted by Scott on Tuesday 18th December, 2007 @ 08:38 |
The city of St. Louis will offer free holiday parking on Tuesday, December 18 courtesy of Springfield resident Homer Simpson and his family. The famous animated clan are celebrating the release of their recent, big screen adventure "The Simpsons Movie" on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc on December 18.
Though Mr. Simpson would probably prefer to hand out dozens of donuts or cases of Duff brand beer, 171 parking meters on Market Street between Broadway and 20th Street in Downtown St. Louis will be tagged with 3-foot mylar balloons in the shape of a strawberry-frosted donut. Those meters will be free to use between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
