The Cuts
Here are a bunch of lines, scenes and other things that were cut from the movie. Currently, this list just consists of brief unformatted notes; more detail and pictures coming soon!
- Scene where the angry mob goes through the DMV (hence patty and selma in the credits)
- Lenny and Moe's conversation during the mob riot ("so, uh...who we gonna kill again?" "i think the people in the front know")
- Homer's puns as the town stormed the house from the animatic ("hello doiley" and such), lisa going "ladders! they've got ladders!" and hibbert going "i'll kill you, you son of a bitch!"
- Homer saying "that's enough whipping for now... with this arm!" during the whipping bit
- Smithers bathing burns in jewels
- A conversation between apu and wiggum while fleeing the hounds
- The bit in the bar from the trailer where moe goes "what" and barney goes "tell us!"
- A speaking appearance by Groundskeeper Willie - he was in a truck in one shot in the trailer - his lips definitely move, too, so he had a line cut.
- Lovejoy's "here's the money shot" (replaced by comic book guy/marge scene)
- Kang's appearance in the credits
- The scene for springfield anthem (song was heard during the credits)
- Guest stars: Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob, Minnie Driver as a grievance counselor, Erin Brokovich as herself
- Three songs were cut from the movie
- During Homer's "the word apology..." speech, in the trailer it cuts to a crowd scene where Frink among others shows his frustration.
- Krusty's part where he's doing the commercial had most of the background missing in the trailers (it was just the blue curtain), in the film he had people/set pieces behind him.
- Lisa's "Dad, do something!" as she runs into the bedroom was cut just for the trailer. In the film, she says calls Homer a monster at that point, but I think the line itself was somewhere else in the film, perhaps in the church scene at the beginning?
- Homer's line "Did I save the day?" was changed to "Homer do good?" prior to Bart's "Actually, you doomed us all."
- Homer's trip to the lake was different - he doesn't run down the long series of signs (that end with "Bastard!!!"). Also, how Homer tips the waste into the river was slightly different, in the animatic, he remarks "this feels right".
