Official Simpsons Websites

Within the last 10 years the popularity of the Internet has exploded dramatically. Not one to miss a trick, The Simpsons writers have slipped dozens and dozens of internet references and website names into recent episodes. And in fact, several of the websites mentioned as jokes have actually been made by Fox and put online as the episode aired. This page lists all the ones we've found.

Official show websites

Official Fox site
http://www.thesimpsons.com

Official siteThe official Simpsons website from Fox has a few nice features, most notably the recent addition of interactive character profiles (see right). The episode guide is worth a look too. However, the rest of the site offers very little, and I would advise you to Characters sectionstay as far away as possible from the "community" section which is very unorganized and does not look like it is moderated in any way.

Quimby 2000
http://thesimpsons.com/quimby2000

Quimby 2000This special site was created in the run-up to the 2000 US election. It details Mayor Quimby's campaign to be the first cartoon character to be elected president; The site includes Diamond Joe's manifesto, campaign trail and a life history. A very interesting read.

Channel Four Simpsons Site
http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/S/simpsons/

Channel 4In the UK, The Simpsons moved from BBC2 to Channel Four in November 2004, and so Channel 4 added this "microsite" to their site. Includes an episode guide, character bios, interviews and a forum.

BBC 2 website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/simpsons/

BBC 2Even though the BBC does not air the show any more, the Simpsons site is still available. Like the Channel 4 site it has episode and character information, but also has quizzes, trivia and cast info.

Episode-specific sites

Mr. X's Web Page
http://www.mrxswebpage.com

Mr. X's Web PageFrom the episode The Computer Wore Menace Shoes (Season 12), this website is a copy of the gossip website Homer makes. Not much here except the stories he wrote, though they do have the correct wording from the episode, where applicable. Below is the website as it appeared in the episode.

Mr. X's Web Page

What Badgers Eat
http://www.whatbadgerseat.com

What Badgers EatA passing reference to this web site was made in A Tale of Two Springfields (Season 12): Lisa looks up what badgers eat so that she and Bart can lure the badger out of SLH's kennel. The website lists what badgers like (as described in the episode) and don't like; and you can test your knowledge with a game.

Dorks Gone Wild
http://www.dorks-gone-wild.com

Dorks Gone WildThis website was featured in the Season 16 episode Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass. In the episode it was made by Jeff Albertson (Comic Book Guy). Three of the links simply show images, but the fourth one shows a video of Homer's dance from the episode. There is also a wallpaper and an e-card you can send. Below is the website as it appeared in the episode.

Springfield Is For Gay Lovers Of Marriage
http://www.springfieldisforgayloversofmarriage.com

Springfield Is For Gay Lovers Of MarriageYet another small promotional site, from the episode There's Something About Marrying (Season 16). Site simply includes a few pictures from the episode.

Sexy Slumber Party
http://www.sexyslumberparty.com

Sexy Slumber PartyFrom the Season 16 episode Home Away From Homer, this is a recreation of the college students' website that Bart and Milhouse stumble across. You can see a video clip from the episode and a few pictures.

"Treehouse of Horror XIV" promo

"My Mother The Carjacker" promo
http://www.thesimpsons.com/_email/season15/index.htm

These two micro-sites appeared shortly before the start of the fifteenth Season. They each contain a short Flash animation of characters from the episode. There used to be a video clip on each site, but they have now been taken offline.

Other websites

Internet King

Internet KingHomer's popup banner on Comic Book Guy's computer in Das Bus (Season 9). Quite how he managed that without a computer or any knowledge of the Internet is currently unknown.

Dancing Jesus/Springfield Police Department web pages

Dancing Jesus Springfield Police Department

Two sites that Homer browses with his new computer in The Computer Wore Menace Shoes. Dancing Jesus features a picture of Jesus twirling and dancing, while the Springfield Police Department's page asks if the user has committed a crime; Whatever your answer is, you are assumed to be a criminal anyway.

Homer's first website

Homer's Web Page

Homer's first website in The Computer Wore Menace Shoes just has lots of animations and annoying noises all on one page. Great huh?

OLD COOT.COM

OldCoot.comGrampa says he has a website in The Fat and the Furriest (Season 15). The URL www.oldcoot.com is an actual (non-Fox) website, which promptly sued Fox for putting the URL in the show.

NUCLEAR-SECRETS.COM

Nuclear Secrets

Another fake website featured in a recent episode - Season 16's Fat Man and Little Boy. Homer looks up how to build a nuclear reactor for Lisa's Science Fair Project. This domain has been registered but is full of ads.
