He chose to leave his family at a very young age, in order to live with a millionaire. His greed has affected his personal life making him cold and heartless, and the most hated man in Springfield. His greed is so high that he once attempted to block out the sun, so that he could charge people for using electricity to power lights all day long! Monty's first feature episode was "Homer's Odyssey" (7G03) first aired over 9 years ago, however he first appeared in "Simpsons roasting On An Open Fire" (7G08) way back in 1989. And since the 2nd season Mr. Burns can be seen checking his watch in the opening credits. His popularity is so big that he is the only character to have a double episode named after him - "Who Shot Mr Burns?" I & II. In a recent survey, Monty was named as the fourth most popular character just behind Homer, Bart and Ralph Wiggum. THOH Roles: On the Simpsons Halloween Specials (or Treehouse of Horror episodes) Burns is usually portrayed as a villian. In "If I Only Had a Brain" (8502) Monty portrays a mad scientist, seeking out a brain for his robot whom he built to be the perfect employee. In "King Homer" (9504) Monty is shown catching King Homer in the wild for a sideshow attraction, only to end in the destruction of the city. "Bart Simpson's Dracula" (1F04) The Simpsons join Monty in his castle in Pennsylvania, only to discover that he is a vampire! And finally, Monty leaves the Simpsons to stay in his hanuted mansion in "The Shinning" (2F03) without beer or tv, causing Homer to go crazy.
